How it is calculated

Job applications, a lease sent as a PDF, an email footer: you often need your own signature as an image file. This signature maker lets you draw it and gives you a clean file without a white box around it.

How it works

Sign in the box with a mouse, your finger (phone, tablet) or a stylus.
Pick a line width and color – blue looks like it was signed with a ballpoint pen when printed.
Made a mistake? “Undo” removes the last stroke, “Clear” removes everything.
“Download PNG”: the image is cropped to your signature automatically and the background is transparent.

PNG or SVG?

PNG at triple resolution works everywhere: Word, Pages, Google Docs, PDF editors, email.
SVG is a vector graphic that stays sharp at any size – for print templates or websites.

With a stylus (Apple Pencil, Surface Pen, Wacom) pen pressure is used: pressing harder draws thicker lines, like a real pen. Lines are smoothed as you draw.

Is a pasted signature legally binding?

An image of your signature is a simple electronic signature. In the US, the ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001) says a signature may not be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic; in the EU, Art. 25 of the eIDAS Regulation says the same. That covers many everyday documents. A qualified electronic signature (Art. 3(12) eIDAS) is different: it relies on a qualified certificate and a secure signature creation device, and only it has the same effect as a handwritten signature in the EU. This tool cannot create one, and some documents (for example wills or certain court filings) have their own rules.

Privacy

Your signature is sensitive. Here it is drawn and saved only in your browser – no upload, no browser storage, nothing in the address bar. Close the page and the drawing is gone. To combine scans or images with your signature into one file, use Images to PDF.

How do I create an electronic signature?

Sign in the box with a mouse, finger or stylus and click “Download PNG”. The image is cropped to your signature and has a transparent background.

How do I add my signature to a Word document or PDF?

In Word, use Insert → Pictures, choose the PNG and set text wrapping to “In front of text”. In PDF apps (e.g. Acrobat Reader “Fill & Sign” or Preview on a Mac) you can place the image as a signature or image stamp.

Is a drawn signature legally valid?

It is a simple electronic signature. Under the US ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS Regulation it cannot be rejected just for being electronic, which is enough for many documents. Where the law requires a handwritten or qualified signature, it is not sufficient.

Why is the background transparent?

So the signature sits on any background – colored letterhead or form lines – without a white box.

Is my signature stored or uploaded?

No. The drawing exists only in this page’s memory. Nothing is sent to a server or stored in your browser; it is gone when you close the page.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. On phones and tablets you sign with your finger; the page does not scroll while you draw. Landscape mode gives you more room.
