Merge PDF files
Drop in your PDFs, set the order, merge. Your documents are combined right in your browser – ideal for job applications, invoices or contracts that shouldn’t leave your device.
How it is calculated
Application documents, statements, scanned pages: often several PDFs need to be sent or uploaded as one file. This tool joins the pages of all files in the order you choose. Pages are copied unchanged – text stays text, it remains searchable, and images keep their quality.
How it works
- Drag PDFs (and JPG or PNG images if needed) into the box or choose them.
- Set the order with the ↑ ↓ arrows – the top file comes first.
- Click “Merge PDF” and download the result.
PDFs and images in one document
You can also place photos or scans as JPG or PNG between the PDFs, for example a scanned certificate. Each image becomes its own page, A4 and fitted by default. Page size and margin can be set as soon as an image is in the list. For lots of images without PDFs, use Images to PDF.

- Job applications: cover letter, CV and references as one PDF – many employers ask for exactly that.
- Taxes and bookkeeping: bundle a month’s receipts or all invoices for one case.
- Authorities and landlords: documents for a portal that only accepts a single file.
Limits
Password-protected PDFs can’t be merged – open them with the password first and save them without protection (e.g. via “Print to PDF”). Form fields, bookmarks and outlines of the individual files are not carried over; the visible page content is. Very large files need a matching amount of memory; a few hundred pages are no problem even on a phone.
Privacy
Many online PDF services upload your documents to their servers. Not here: the open-source library pdf-lib merges the files right in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
Is merging really free and without a watermark?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no limit of a few files per day.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. The files are processed in your browser and never leave your device – important for contracts, payslips or ID copies.
How do I change the order?
Use the ↑ and ↓ arrows next to each file. Files are merged from top to bottom.
Can I merge JPG images and PDFs?
Yes. JPG and PNG images are added as their own page, A4 by default. Convert other image formats first with “Images to PDF”.
Why can’t I add my PDF?
Usually it’s password-protected or damaged. Open it with the password and save it again via “Print to PDF” – then it works.
Is the quality preserved?
Yes. PDF pages are copied unchanged and nothing is recompressed. The file size is roughly the sum of the individual files.
How many files can I merge?
Up to 50 files of up to 200 MB each. In practice, your device’s memory sets the limit.
