This collection has 35,234 common English words with 2 to 15 letters, 3,542 of them with 5 letters (most frequent: about, their, there and which). Every list shows the most common words first; you can split it by first or last letter, filter it by letters or a pattern and sort it A–Z.

Word list: SCOWL (Spell Checker Oriented Word Lists by Kevin Atkinson; wordlist.aspell.net), size 60, US and British spellings, lower-case words a–z only (no names or abbreviations), including plurals and verb forms; of these only words with a frequency of at least 2.5 on the Zipf scale (about 3 in 10 million words) in the frequency list wordfreq by Robyn Speer (data CC BY-SA 4.0; origin and processing), sorted by that frequency. Counted are the letters a–z. Licence of these lists: GNU GPL version 3 or later (GPL-3.0, SCOWL copyright notice).

For word games such as Scrabble or crosswords this is a collection of common words, not an official game list: whether a word counts in a particular game is decided by its rules. No point values are given here.
