How it is calculated
Every image format has its strengths, and not every app, office or upload form accepts every format – that’s when converting helps. This tool reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF and HEIC and saves as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.
Which format for what?

According to Google, lossless WebP images are 26% smaller than PNGs and lossy WebP images are 25–34% smaller than comparable JPGs.
Common conversions
- WebP to JPG: images saved from the browser often end up as WebP; Word, older image viewers and many upload forms expect JPG or PNG.
- PNG to JPG: for photos this usually saves a lot of space. Transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose (default: white).
- JPG to PNG: useful if you keep editing the image and don’t want to lose quality on every save. The file gets larger, and a JPG does not gain a transparent background – the subject has to be cut out first.
- HEIC to JPG: iPhone photos for Windows PCs and web forms.
AVIF and browser limits
Saving is done by your browser’s canvas API. Every browser can create JPG and PNG, but not every browser can write WebP and AVIF. If you pick a format your browser can’t write, the tool tells you right away – use a different browser or another target format.
What is kept, what is lost?
Pixel dimensions and orientation are kept. Metadata such as EXIF, GPS location and embedded color profiles is not carried over. Animated GIFs and WebPs are saved as a single frame (the first).

The conversion happens entirely on your device. No images are uploaded.

How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Choose “JPG” as the output format and drop in your WebP files. Download them individually or as a ZIP.
Do I lose quality when converting?
Not to PNG – PNG is lossless. For JPG, WebP and AVIF it depends on the quality setting; from about 85% the difference is invisible.
Does converting a JPG to PNG make it transparent?
No. Converting only changes the file format. A white background stays white; for transparency, the subject has to be cut out first.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes, up to 20 images at once, even in mixed formats. All are converted to the chosen target format.
Why can’t I create AVIF?
Not every browser can save AVIF – although all current browsers can display it. The tool checks this and shows a notice. Try another browser or choose WebP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. All images are converted in your browser and never leave your device.
