How it is calculated

Writing place cards by hand takes time and rarely looks even. Paste your guest list here and get print-ready cards with fold and cut lines.

How it works

  1. Paste the names, one per line (for example copied from a spreadsheet).
  2. Choose the width and the height of the front. The default is 100 × 50 mm – four cards per page.
  3. Optionally add an extra line such as the occasion, date or table number.
  4. Create the PDF, print on heavy paper or card stock, cut along the cut lines and fold along the dashed line.

How it is calculated

Each card is width × twice the height, with the fold exactly in the middle. Cards are centred in a grid with at least 5 mm of page margin. With “Name on both sides”, the text on the top half is mirrored at the fold and rotated 180°. The font size follows the card height and shrinks for long names until they fit the width. Inches convert with 1 in = 25.4 mm (NIST SP 811).

Honest limits

There is one plain typeface (Helvetica or Noto Sans) – no decorations, images or colours. Whether your printer feeds the card stock you want is in its manual. Emoji and Asian scripts cannot be printed.

Privacy

The names are processed only in your browser and are not stored anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What size are place cards?

There is no fixed standard. The default here is 100 × 50 mm (about 4 × 2 in) for the visible side, cut from 100 × 100 mm and folded.

What paper should I use?

Heavy paper or light card stock your printer can handle – the maximum paper weight is listed in the printer manual.

Why is the top half upside down?

After folding, the top half faces the other side of the table. The rotation makes the name read the right way from both sides.

Can I add table numbers?

Yes, as the extra line. It is the same on every card, so create one PDF per table for different numbers.
