How it is calculated

A list of names becomes print-ready tags: at 90 × 55 mm ten fit on a sheet of A4. The name is big and bold in the middle, an optional line below holds company, role or table, and a colour band runs along the top.

How it works

  1. Paste the names, one per line. A semicolon adds a second line, for example “Anna Example; Example Ltd”. Columns copied from a spreadsheet (tab) work too.
  2. Choose width and height. The default is 90 × 55 mm, the size of common business-card and badge holders.
  3. Optionally enter a header line such as the event name and pick a colour band, for example one colour per group.
  4. Create the PDF, print on sturdy paper, cut along the lines and slide the tags into holders with a clip or lanyard.

How it is calculated

The tags sit in a grid without gaps, centred on the sheet with at least 5 mm of margin. The type size follows the tag height and is reduced for long names so the text fits the width.

Honest limits

There is one plain typeface and no logo. Whether your printer takes the chosen card stock is in its manual. Emojis cannot be printed.

Privacy

The names are processed only in your browser and are not stored anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What size are name tags?

Common sizes are 90 × 55 mm (business-card size) or 4 × 3 in. You set the size freely here; ten 90 × 55 mm tags fit on A4.

Can I make name tags from an Excel list?

Yes: copy the column of names and paste it. If name and company are in two columns, copying separates them with a tab and they become a second line automatically.

How do I get different colours for different groups?

The colour band is the same for all tags in one PDF. Make a separate list and PDF for each group in its own colour.

What paper should I print name tags on?

On sturdy paper or thin card that your printer handles, to suit your badge holders. The permitted weight is in the printer manual.
