How it is calculated

In short: fill in the heading, value, text and optionally sender, expiry and number, paste a list of names if you need one, and get a print-ready PDF. Everything runs in your browser.

How to make a gift certificate

1. Enter the heading and the value or service, for example “Gift Certificate” and “$50” or “1 hour massage”.
2. Add up to three lines of text, such as the occasion or how to redeem it.
3. Under “Vouchers per page” choose 1, 2 or 3; several sit one above the other, separated by dashed cutting lines.
4. Optionally paste names (one per line): everyone gets a voucher of their own. Without names you get blank vouchers with lines to fill in by hand.
5. Click “Create PDF” and print it.

What belongs on a gift certificate

• a clear value (amount) or a precisely described service,
• the names of the recipient and the giver,
• the expiry and, for several vouchers, a running number so each one is redeemed only once.

Paper size and printing

Pages are exactly A4 (210 × 297 mm per ISO 216) or US Letter; English pages default to Letter. When printing choose “Actual size” or 100 %, so borders are not cut off. Cut along the dashed lines; thicker paper from about 160 gsm looks more premium if your printer can handle it.

Expiry – a note

Rules on how long a voucher stays valid differ by country and state, and some places prohibit or limit expiry dates. If you sell vouchers as a business, check the rules where you operate. This is not legal advice.

Honest limits

• There is one plain typeface without decorative fonts, logos or images; the design comes from colour and border.
• Emoji and scripts outside Latin, Greek and Cyrillic cannot be printed in the PDF and are replaced.
• The voucher is a printout without security features; only the running number in your own list helps against copies.

Privacy

The list of names is processed only in your browser and stored nowhere; your browser remembers only the template settings.
