How it is calculated

In short: this generator turns a list of names and birthdays into a perpetual birthday calendar as a PDF: twelve month boxes on one page, entries sorted by day. With no entries you get a blank template with writing lines to fill in by hand.

How it works

  1. Paste the list: one birthday per line, date first or last, for example 3/14 Anna or Ben 11/2/1990. Lines from Excel (name;date) are recognized too.
  2. If you like, switch on Show age and pick the year: entries with a birth year then show the age the person reaches in that year.
  3. Choose the format and orientation, then “Create PDF” and print at actual size.

How it is calculated

Each entry goes into the box of its month and is sorted by day. The age is the chosen year minus the birth year; entries without a year show no age. February 29 is allowed, without a year or in a leap year (divisible by 4, centuries only if divisible by 400). When a month has many entries the lines are set closer together; if they still do not all fit, the generator reports how many entries are left over. On the English site the month comes first (3/14 means March 14) and US Letter is the default format.

Honest limits

Each month has room for about 12 to 14 entries. For larger groups, such as a whole school, split the list across several calendars. The calendar does not enter zodiac signs or observances. The “toolboxday.com” footer can be switched off.

Privacy

The names and birthdays stay in your browser: the PDF is created locally, and the list is neither stored nor transmitted. Only the settings (format, color …) are remembered by the browser.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a birthday calendar printable?

Paste names and birthdays into the box, for example “3/14 Anna”, choose US Letter or A4 and “Create PDF”. The PDF is ready to print at once, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Can I print a blank birthday calendar to fill in?

Yes. Leave the box empty and print the template: twelve month boxes with writing lines for names and days, ideal for a classroom, daycare or office.

How is the age calculated?

Under “Show age” choose the year. The age is that year minus the birth year; it appears only for entries with a birth year, such as “3/14/1985 Anna”.

Which date formats are recognized?

3/14 and 3/14/1985, with slash, dot or hyphen, as well as ISO 8601 (1985-03-14). The date may come before or after the name. Lines with a tab or semicolon from Excel work too.

How many birthdays fit on one page?

Plenty in total; only the space per month is limited: about 12 to 14 entries depending on the format. For larger groups split the list across two calendars.

Does the calendar work for every year?

Yes, it is perpetual: it contains no weekdays and no year and can be reused year after year. Only if you show the age does the chosen year appear in the title.
