How to use the guest list

Enter each guest or household as one entry. “Plus-ones” is the number of extra people coming with them – a couple is one entry with 1 plus-one, a family of four is one entry with 3. The summary counts people = 1 + plus-ones per entry and shows entries and people separately.

How to make a wedding guest list

  1. In the settings, name both sides and set the meal choices.
  2. Add each guest or household as one entry: name, side, RSVP, plus-ones, meal choice and dietary needs.
  3. Update the RSVP in the table as replies arrive – the summary counts people and meals for you.
  4. Export the list as a CSV for Excel or print it.

Example: Anna (attending, 1 plus-one), the Webers (attending, 3 plus-ones) and Tom (pending, no plus-one). Attending: 2 + 4 = 6 people in 2 entries; pending: 1 person; maximum expected: 7 people.

Sides, RSVPs and meal choices

Under “Settings” you can rename the two sides, for example with your first names, and set the meal options. The side shows whose guest someone is; “both” suits mutual friends. Change the RSVP right in the table as soon as a reply comes in.

A meal choice applies to everyone in the entry and is only counted for attending guests – the number your caterer or venue needs. If a plus-one wants something different, add them as a separate entry. Dietary requirements such as “gluten-free” or “nut allergy” are free text and counted as the number of entries affected, so no allergy gets lost.

CSV for Excel, import and printing

“Export CSV” saves the list as a file that Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers open directly (comma-separated, UTF-8). “Import CSV” reads such a file back in and appends the guests – including your own spreadsheet template if its columns are called something like “Name”, “RSVP” and “Plus-ones”. “Print” outputs only the summary and the table, without the input fields.

Privacy

Names and allergies are personal data, so the guest list is kept only in your browser’s storage (localStorage). It is never sent to a server or put into the address bar. It will not appear on another device – use the CSV export for that. “Delete list” removes everything from this browser.

Frequently asked questions

How are plus-ones counted?

An entry with 1 plus-one counts as 2 people. That is why the summary always shows people and entries separately, for example “6 people (2 entries)”.

Where is my guest data stored?

Only in your browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded. To use the list on another device or share it with your partner, export it as CSV.

Can I import my existing spreadsheet?

Yes. Save the sheet as CSV and import it. Columns such as Name, Side, RSVP, Plus-ones, Meal choice, Dietary requirements and Note are recognised; without a header row, the first column is used as the name.

Which number do I give the caterer?

Use “Attending” in people, plus the meal choices of attending guests and the number of entries with dietary requirements. While replies are still missing, “Maximum expected” gives you the upper limit.

How do I print the guest list?

“Print” opens your browser’s print dialog with only the summary and the guest table. Choose “Save as PDF” there to get a PDF file.
