How it is calculated

The wheel starts with two equal slices: Yes and No, 50% each. Mathematically that is the same as a coin toss – except that you can change the slices however you like. That makes a yes or no wheel the fastest way to break a stalemate when your gut isn't giving you an answer.

Variations to try

The coin-toss trick

A well-known piece of decision advice: let chance decide and notice your gut reaction the moment the result appears. Relieved? The answer fits. Disappointed? Now you know what you really wanted. The wheel doesn't replace your judgement – it reveals it.

For important matters – health, money, contracts – a random wheel is not good advice. For "Shall we go out tonight?" or "Dessert: yes or no?" it is perfect.

Everyday yes or no questions

Need more than two options – names, restaurants, or tasks? The classic spin the wheel lets you set up any number of custom slices.

Save, share and revisit your list

Your entries live in the page's URL automatically. Copy the link and send it to a friend or a colleague – they get the exact same wheel and can spin along without retyping anything.

History, replace and remove

By default, Yes and No stay on the wheel after every spin (replace), so the odds never change. Turn on "Remove the winning entry from the wheel" and the picked option disappears afterwards – handy for elimination or ordering decisions with several fields. "Drawn so far" lists every result of the session.

Frequently asked questions

Is yes as likely as no?

Yes, both slices have exactly 50%. The randomness comes from crypto.getRandomValues(), your browser's secure random number generator.

Can I add "maybe"?

Yes, just type a new line "Maybe" into the text box. The wheel then splits into three equal slices automatically.

How is this different from a coin flip?

Mathematically it isn't, as long as only yes and no are on the wheel. The wheel, however, can be extended with more answers and weights. For a series with statistics, use the coin flip.

Can I just spin the wheel for yes or no?

Yes, that's exactly what this page does: spin the wheel, get a clean yes or no, no sign-up and no app to install.

How do I set odds like 70/30?

Add an asterisk and a number to a line, e.g. "Yes *7" and "No *3" gives 70% to 30%. Decimals like "Yes *2.5" work too.

Can I share my yes or no wheel with someone else?

Yes, your entries are stored in the URL. Just copy the link and send it – the other person sees the identical wheel.

Does this site store my entries anywhere?

No. The yes or no wheel runs entirely in your browser; there is no sign-up and nothing is saved on a server.

How many entries can I add, and does it work with a keyboard?

Up to 500 lines, and the wheel is fully keyboard-operable, which also makes it easier to use with assistive tech.
