How it is calculated

Icebreaker questions work because they are easy to answer and still reveal something personal. The wheel takes the choice off the host: whoever is up spins, reads the question aloud and answers in a sentence or two. Every question has the same chance – with twelve entries that is 8.33%.

How to use it

  1. Pick a question set at the top: work & team, school & class, friends & party or date. “Mixed” takes a bit from each.
  2. Click “Spin the wheel” and read the question out loud. Go around the circle so everyone answers.
  3. Switch on “Remove the winning entry from the wheel” so each question comes up only once – ideal when everyone plays the same round.

Tips for good rounds

The questions are deliberately neutral: nothing about health, politics, religion or relationship status. That keeps mixed groups of colleagues or strangers comfortable.

Frequently asked questions

What are good icebreaker questions for work meetings?

Questions that are easy to answer and do not force anything private: first job, favorite lunch, dream destination for a team trip. The “Work & team” set is built around exactly that.

How many questions should I ask per round?

One per person is enough. With ten people the game takes about ten minutes – long enough to break the ice without blowing up the agenda.

Are these questions suitable for kids and classrooms?

Yes. The “School & class” set uses child-friendly questions with no sensitive topics. Show the wheel on the whiteboard and let the kids take turns spinning.

Can I add my own questions?

Yes. The text box is fully editable: delete, add or reword questions. Add “*2” at the end of a line and that question comes up twice as often.

How is a question picked?

Every question has the same chance. The wheel uses your browser’s random number generator (Web Crypto), not the order of the list.

Are there questions for a first date?

The “Date” set has ten relaxed questions that invite storytelling. Personal topics like past relationships are intentionally left out.
