How it is calculated
New puzzles every day – the same for everyone
All daily puzzles change at midnight (your device’s time). They are not rolled at random but calculated from the date: everyone who plays on the same day gets the same puzzle on every device – just like Wordle. That makes it easy to compare results with friends.
- Mini crossword: a 5 × 5 grid with four black squares, three words across and three down. Every word and clue comes from our own hand-written list, and each grid is checked for completeness before it is shown.
- Daily sudoku: exactly one solution; difficulty rises during the week.
- Daily nonogram: a 10 × 10 picture puzzle that can be solved by logic alone.
- Block puzzle challenge: everyone gets the same sequence of shapes – reach the target score.
Streak, calendar and archive
Your streak grows with every day on which you solve at least one of that day’s puzzles on the same day. If you haven’t solved anything yet today, the streak holds until midnight. The calendar shows which days are fully, partly or not solved. Tap a past day to open its puzzles in the archive – puzzles caught up later appear in the calendar but do not extend the streak.
Share like Wordle
“Share result” creates a message with symbols instead of answers (green = solved, yellow = with help, white = open) and a link that opens exactly that day’s puzzles.
Privacy
Everything stays in your browser’s localStorage (keys tagesraetsel and tagesraetsel:mini) – no account, no cookies, nothing is sent to a server. If you clear the site data, your streak starts over.
Frequently asked questions
When do new puzzles come out?
Every day at midnight by your device’s clock. The countdown at the top shows how long until the next puzzles.
Does everyone get the same puzzles?
Yes. The puzzles are calculated from the date rather than generated at random, so on the same calendar day everyone sees the same crossword, sudoku and nonogram.
How does the streak work?
The streak counts consecutive days on which you solved at least one daily puzzle on that same day. Miss a whole day and it starts again from zero.
Can I play puzzles I missed?
Yes, from the calendar: tap a past day to open its puzzles. Puzzles caught up later are marked in the calendar but do not count toward your streak.
What does “with help” mean?
If you revealed a letter in the mini crossword or used a hint in sudoku or the nonogram, the puzzle counts as solved with help and shows up yellow when you share.
Do I need an account?
No. Streak, calendar and progress are saved only in your browser. On another device or after clearing site data you start fresh.
