Profile picture frame maker
Make a profile picture frame in a minute: drop in a photo, pick a campaign or type your own text – a ring, curved banner or corner ribbon appears right away around your round profile picture. Drag with finger or mouse to adjust the crop. Your photo stays on your device.

How it is calculated
In short: this tool puts a frame around your profile picture – a colored ring with text following the circle, a curved banner covering only part of the circle (the look known from “We’re hiring” profile photos), or a diagonal corner ribbon, for example a black mourning ribbon. You get a square PNG that every platform crops into a circle by itself.
How it works
- Drag in a photo, pick one or paste it with Ctrl + V. A sample photo shows the look first.
- Choose a campaign (fills text, frame and colors) or set everything yourself: text, ring, banner or ribbon, position, colors, font and frame width.
- Move the crop with mouse or finger and enlarge it with the zoom slider.
- “Save profile picture” – 1080, 800 or 400 pixels, as PNG with a transparent edge or as JPG.
Why square, and what size?
WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok store profile pictures as squares and display them as circles. That’s why the frame sits exactly inside the circle inscribed in the square – anything outside is cropped by the platform anyway. LinkedIn requires profile photos of at least 400 × 400 pixels (maximum 8 MB); 1080 pixels is safe everywhere, even on high-resolution screens.
Readable on any background
The text color is chosen automatically: white or near-black, whichever gives the higher WCAG contrast on the frame colors. On colorful gradients like the rainbow, where no single color contrasts well everywhere, the letters also get a thin outline. Text along the curve is placed letter by letter and shrinks if it gets too long for the circle.
Honest limits
The frame is part of the image – on LinkedIn it is not linked to the built-in job seeking or hiring features. In very small views (such as comments) long text is hard to read; two or three words work best. If you only want a round crop, use circle crop image.
Privacy
Your photo is processed only in the browser and never uploaded. The text and settings are remembered, never the photo. The sample photo was generated locally and does not show a real person.
More ideas: add border to image for rectangular photos and social media templates for a matching campaign post.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a profile picture frame for free?
Drop your photo in above, choose a campaign or type your own text and click “Save profile picture”. Free, no account, no watermark.
How do I add a frame to my WhatsApp profile picture?
Create the frame here, save it as PNG or JPG and set it as your new photo in your WhatsApp profile. WhatsApp crops the square image into a circle, so the frame lands right on the edge.
How do I add a black mourning ribbon to my profile picture?
Choose the “Mourning ribbon” campaign: a black band runs diagonally across the lower left corner. Text is optional and can stay empty.
Can I make a frame in my country’s flag colors?
Yes. Pick “Two colors” and set both: the ring gets a top and a bottom half, the corner ribbon two stripes.
What size should a profile picture be?
Square and at least 400 × 400 pixels (LinkedIn’s minimum). 1080 × 1080 pixels suits every major platform.
