    How it is calculated

In short: The tool puts an even border around your photo. You give the width as a percentage of the shorter side, choose any color or make the border see-through. Everything runs in the browser, without an upload.

    How it works

    1. Drag in an image, choose one or paste it with Ctrl + V.
    2. Set border width and color. The preview updates at once.
    3. Pick a style: “Border around the image” enlarges the file, “Border on the image” keeps the size and covers the image edge.
    4. Optionally add instant-photo style or rounded corners, then save.

    Frequently asked questions

How can I add a border to an image?

Drag the image in, set width and color and click “Save image with border”. Free and without an upload.

How do I make a white border around a photo?

The border is white by default. Just set the width, for example 6 to 10%, and save the image.

How do I get an instant-photo look?

Turn on “Instant-photo style”. The bottom border becomes three times as wide as the others, typical for instant photos.

    Can the border be transparent?

Yes, with “Transparent border”. The image is then saved as PNG, because only PNG and WebP support transparency.

    Does the image size change?

With “Border around the image” the file grows by the border; with “Border on the image” the size stays the same.
