Online mirror with your camera
Start the camera and you see yourself as in a mirror. A bright frame around the image works as a light, and zoom brings you closer. The image stays on your device.

How to use the online mirror
- Tap “Start mirror” and allow camera access.
- The image is flipped – like a real mirror: if you raise your right hand, the hand on the right side of the image rises.
- Set the light frame to “white” or “warm white”: the bright border lights your face a little in low light. It works best in fullscreen.
- Use zoom to get closer and “Snapshot” to freeze a moment and save it if you like.
How it works
The page asks for the camera through the standard getUserMedia interface (W3C Media Capture and Streams) and shows the image directly. The snapshot is created locally in the browser as a PNG file. Without your permission there is no image; “Camera off” ends access immediately.
Limits
- Image quality depends on the camera; laptop cameras are often less sharp than phone front cameras.
- The light frame does not replace a proper lamp – it only helps at close range.
- Without a camera or permission the mirror cannot start; the browser then shows a notice.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use my phone as a mirror?
Open the page, tap “Start mirror” and allow the camera. The front camera image appears flipped like a mirror.
Why is the image flipped?
So it feels like a real mirror. A saved snapshot is flipped too, just as you see it on screen.
Is my camera image stored or sent?
No. It is only shown in your browser. Only a snapshot is saved, and only when you tap “Save image”.
What is the light frame for?
The bright border around the image shines a little light on your face at close range. It works best in fullscreen with high screen brightness.
Why does the camera not start?
Usually permission is missing or another program is using the camera. Check camera access in the browser settings and close other apps.
