Day Counter: Count Days From, Until or Between Dates
This day counter counts days from today until a date, since a past date or between any two days – with or without the end day, and split into weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekend days. Example: from 1 January 2027 to 25 December 2027 there are 358 days, 256 of them Monday to Friday.

How it is calculated
A day counter answers how many days lie between two calendar dates. It subtracts one date from the other, taking the different month lengths and leap years into account, so you do not have to count on a calendar.
How the days are counted
By default the start date is day zero and the end date is the last day reached: from Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. That is the usual way to count nights, deadlines and durations. Tick “Include the end date” when both the first and the last day count in full – for example for the days of an event or a rental period.
Worked example
From Friday, 1 January 2027 to Saturday, 25 December 2027 there are 358 days. That is 51 weeks and 1 day (358 ÷ 7 = 51, remainder 1) or 11 calendar months and 24 days. Of these days 256 fall on Monday to Friday and 102 on a weekend. In hours it is 358 × 24 = 8,592. With the end date included the count is 359 days.
A shorter one: from 2 October 2026 to 1 January 2027 it is exactly 91 days or 13 weeks, with 65 weekdays.
Good to know
- A normal year has 365 days, a leap year 366. Leap years are divisible by 4, except century years that are not divisible by 400 – 1900 was not a leap year, 2000 was.
- Calendar months are counted from the start date’s day of the month; a 31st is capped at the last day of a shorter month.
- The weekday count leaves out Saturdays and Sundays only. Public holidays differ by country and are not removed.
Frequently asked questions
How many days are there between two dates?
Enter both dates and the counter subtracts them. From 1 January 2027 to 25 December 2027, for example, it is 358 days.
Is the end date included in the count?
Not by default: the result is the difference between the dates. Tick the box to include it – the example then gives 359 instead of 358 days.
How do I count only weekdays?
The table shows the days from Monday to Friday separately. In the example 256 of the 358 days are weekdays and 102 fall on a Saturday or Sunday.
How many days until a date from today?
Leave the start date empty and enter the target date. The counter uses today’s date and updates every time you open the page.
How many weeks is that?
Divide the days by 7. 358 days are 51 weeks and 1 day; 91 days are exactly 13 weeks.
