SEO Checker: Analyze Any Web Page for Free
This free SEO checker fetches a web page and runs more than 20 technical checks that matter to Google: title and meta description measured in pixels, headings, canonical, hreflang, indexability, mobile viewport, structured data and images without alt text. You get a score from 0 to 100 and a prioritized list of fixes – no sign-up needed.

How it is calculated
What the SEO checker looks at
- Reachability: HTTPS, status code and every redirect up to the final URL.
- Indexing: noindex and nofollow from the robots meta tag and the X-Robots-Tag HTTP header.
- Search snippet: title and meta description – measured in pixels like in our SERP preview tool, not just in characters.
- Structure: H1, heading order, lang attribute, character set and the mobile viewport.
- Duplicates and languages: canonical tag (self-reference, conflicting values) and hreflang (valid codes, self-reference, x-default).
- Sharing and rich results: Open Graph (og:title, og:description, og:image) and structured data in JSON-LD or microdata, including syntax errors.
- Content: images without an alt attribute, internal and external links, nofollow, mixed content (http files on HTTPS pages) and HTML size.
How the score works
Every check has a weight: indexability counts most (15), HTTPS, status code and title 10 each, meta description and viewport 8 each, canonical and H1 6 each, and smaller items such as the lang attribute or character set 2–5. A pass earns the full weight, “review” half, a problem nothing; pure info items (for example no hreflang on a single-language site) are left out. The weighting is our own, openly documented judgment – Google publishes no formula, and a high score does not guarantee rankings. It tells you whether the technical basics are in place.
How the page is fetched
Your browser sends the URL to our server, which requests the page as ToolboxDayBot, follows at most 5 redirects, waits up to 8 seconds and reads at most 2 MB – the same amount Googlebot processes from an HTML file. Only the analysis comes back, never the page content. Private networks, localhost and other non-public addresses are never fetched. Each IP address can run 30 checks per hour.
Blocking ToolboxDayBot
The checker obeys the target site’s robots.txt. To opt out, add:
User-agent: ToolboxDayBot Disallow: /
Limitations
The check reads the HTML the server delivers. Content that is only created by JavaScript in the browser (as in pure single-page apps) is invisible to it – Google renders such pages in an extra step. Page speed in the browser, Core Web Vitals, backlinks and search volume are not measured. Some servers serve bots different content than browsers, or block unknown crawlers.
Frequently asked questions
Is this SEO checker really free?
Yes – no account, no email and no subscription. To keep it fast for everyone, each IP address can run 30 checks per hour.
How do I check if my website is SEO friendly?
Enter the address and click “Check page”. Every check is listed with its finding and rating, followed by fixes sorted by priority – problems first. The essentials: no accidental noindex, status 200, a unique title, a matching description and a mobile viewport.
Can it audit my whole website?
It checks one page at a time. For the site as a whole, use the robots.txt and sitemap checker and Google Search Console, which monitors every page of your domain.
Why does the checker find no title although my page has one?
Usually JavaScript sets the title in the browser. The checker reads the HTML as the server sends it. Google does render JavaScript, but later and not always – so important tags belong in the delivered HTML.
What does “robots.txt does not allow us to fetch this page” mean?
The target site blocks ToolboxDayBot or all crawlers for this URL. We respect that and do not fetch the page. The robots.txt checker shows which rule applies.
Is the URL I enter stored?
No. The URL is sent to our server for this one request and the result comes straight back. There is no log of checked addresses; for the hourly limit the server keeps a one-way hash of your IP in memory for at most one hour.
