How to make a tier list
- Add entries: type one entry per line into the text box – games, characters, shows, snacks, anything. For pictures, tap "Add images" or drag image files onto the tier list maker.
- Rank them: drag each entry from "Not ranked yet" into a tier. On a phone you can also tap an entry and then tap a tier. With a keyboard, the arrow keys change tier and position.
- Customize tiers: "Edit tiers" lets you rename, recolour, reorder and delete tiers; "Add tier" appends a new one. You can rename a tier any time by typing in its coloured box.
- Save or share: "Save as PNG" downloads an image of the finished list, "Copy link" creates a link with all text entries and their ranking.
What is a tier list?
A tier list sorts things into ranks instead of numbering them one by one. The usual scale runs from S (outstanding) through A, B, C and D down to F or E (weak). The format comes from gaming, where characters are ranked by strength, and is now used for everything: food, films, albums, travel destinations. Several entries can share the same tier – that is what sets a tier list apart from a top-10 list.
Your images stay on your device
Images are not uploaded. Your browser opens the file locally, crops it to a square and scales it down. That is also why images cannot be part of the share link: whoever opens the link sees the text entries only. To show a tier list with pictures, share the PNG. Added images are gone when you reload the page.
The share link
The link contains the text list and the ranking in a compact form, plus tier names and colours. Whoever opens it gets the same tier list and can keep re-ranking – handy for comparing opinions: everyone ranks the same list and sends back their own link.
The PNG
The image is drawn right in your browser: tiers with colour and name, entries as tiles, wrapping onto new lines in long tiers. It is 2,000 pixels wide, so it stays readable in chats and on social media. The "Not ranked yet" area is not included.

Can I use my own images?
Yes. Use "Add images" or drag image files onto the tier list maker. Images are processed in your browser only and never uploaded.
Does the tier list maker work on mobile?
Yes. Drag entries with your finger, or tap an entry and then tap the target tier – often easier on small screens.
Why are my images missing from the shared link?
The link holds text only. Images deliberately stay on your device and would make a link far too long anyway. For a tier list with pictures, save and share the PNG.
Can I rename tiers or change their colours?
Yes. Type over the name in the coloured box. "Edit tiers" shows a colour picker, arrows to reorder and a delete button; "Add tier" creates a new tier. Entries of a deleted tier go back to "Not ranked yet".
What does S tier mean?
S is the rank above A and holds the very best entries. Its origin is not clearly documented: suggested readings are "special", "super" or the Japanese 秀 (shū, "excellent"), since an S grade above A is common in Japan, for example in school grading.
Is my tier list saved?
Not on a server. Text entries and ranking are stored in the address bar, so a bookmark or a copied link keeps your list. Images are lost on reload.
Is this tier list maker free?
Yes – no sign-up and no watermark on the PNG. It runs in the browser on phone, tablet and PC.
