Tambola Ticket Generator (Housie Tickets)

This tambola ticket generator makes proper housie tickets in a second: three rows, nine columns, fifteen numbers from 1 to 90, every ticket different. Print them six to a page for a kitty party or society function – or send each player a ticket link on WhatsApp and play online. A number caller and a ticket checker are built in.

How it is calculated

A tambola (housie) ticket has 3 rows and 9 columns with exactly 15 numbers from 1 to 90 – five in each row, the other four boxes of the row are blank. The generator builds every ticket at random by these rules, numbers the tickets, and lays them out for printing or for sharing by link.

How to make tambola tickets

  1. Enter how many tickets you need and, if you like, a name for the top of each ticket.
  2. Tap “Generate tickets”. Every ticket is different and gets its own ticket number.
  3. To print: tap “Print tickets”. Six tickets fit on one A4 page; the rest of the page – menu, text, adverts – is left out.
  4. To play on WhatsApp: tap “Copy links for all tickets” and paste the list into your group, or send single tickets with “Link to this ticket”. Each player opens their link and taps the numbers as they are called.

Example: for 40 players with one ticket each, enter 40. The tickets are numbered 1 to 40 and print on 40 ÷ 6 = 6.67, so 7 pages. With “First ticket number” 101 they are numbered 101 to 140.

The rules of a tambola ticket

Sheets of six

Tick “As sheets of 6 tickets” and each sheet contains all numbers from 1 to 90 exactly once across its six tickets (6 × 15 = 90) – the same as a page from a printed housie ticket book. Whoever holds a full sheet strikes one number on every call.

Calling the numbers and checking a claim

After generating tickets, the “Number caller” draws the numbers 1 to 90 in random order, each once, and marks them on the tickets on screen. When someone claims a line or the full house, type their ticket number and tap “Check ticket” – you see at once how many numbers are struck and how many lines are complete. If you only need the caller with a big 1–90 board, use the tambola number generator.

Popular ways to win

The host announces the winning patterns before the first number is called. Common ones are:

These are party conventions and vary from group to group – agree on them first. The generator only makes the tickets and calls the numbers.

Fair and private

Numbers are chosen with your browser’s secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), without bias. Tickets and calls are saved in your own browser so a reload does not lose the game; nothing is uploaded, and a ticket link contains only that ticket.

Frequently asked questions

How many numbers are on a tambola ticket?

Fifteen. The ticket has 3 rows and 9 columns; each row has 5 numbers and 4 blank boxes. The numbers come from 1 to 90.

Can I play tambola on WhatsApp with these tickets?

Yes. After generating, tap “Copy links for all tickets” and paste the list into the group, or send each player a single ticket link. The ticket opens in the browser and numbers are struck with a tap – no app and no sign-up.

How do I print tambola tickets?

Tap “Print tickets” after generating. Six tickets are printed per A4 page and a ticket is never split across two pages. Cut along the borders.

Can I put a name on the tickets?

Yes. Whatever you type under “Name on every ticket” – a family name, the occasion, your society – is printed at the top of each ticket.

What is a sheet of six tickets?

Six tickets that together contain every number from 1 to 90 exactly once. Tick “As sheets of 6 tickets” to generate them like the pages of a ticket book.

Are two tickets ever the same?

In practice no. The number of possible tickets is astronomically large, and the generator also checks each new ticket against the ones already made and redraws a duplicate.

How do I check a winning ticket?

Call the numbers with the built-in number caller, then enter the ticket number and tap “Check ticket”. It shows how many of the 15 numbers have been called and how many full lines the ticket has.

Is housie the same as tambola?

Yes. Tambola and housie are two names for the same 90-number game; elsewhere it is known as 90-ball bingo.
