To-do list online (tasks and checklist)

This online to-do list keeps track of your tasks – as a checklist you tick off, with due dates, a priority star and a progress bar. It needs no account: the list stays in your browser storage and is never uploaded. You can print it, copy it or save it as a text file.

Type a task and add it with Enter or the button. Tap a task to tick it off.

    Paste a list from text

The list is stored only in this browser on this device (localStorage) and never uploaded. If you clear browser data it is gone – so save important lists as text.

    How it is calculated

A to-do list is the simplest form of self-organisation: write down what needs doing and tick off what is finished. This version runs entirely in your browser – no sign-up, no app, also on your phone.

How to make a to-do list

    1. Type a task and add it with Enter or “Add task”. Optionally set a due date and “Priority ★”.
    2. Tick off finished tasks with a tap; the progress bar shows how much is done.
    3. “Sort” puts open, priority and soon-due tasks on top. Use the arrows to reorder single tasks yourself.

As a checklist or from a template

For recurring routines a checklist works well: load a template (shopping list, packing list, moving), adjust it and tick it off again next time – “Reset all” starts the list over. Your own lists can be pasted from text: one task per line; markers such as [ ] and [x] or bullet characters are recognised.

    Print, copy, save

“Print” outputs only the list, without page header and ads. “Copy as text” and “Download as text file” create a list with [ ] and [x] (the notation of GitHub task lists) that can be pasted into notes, chats and documents.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make a to-do list online?

Type a task at the top and add it with Enter, then tick it off. No account is needed – the list is saved automatically in your browser.

Where is my to-do list stored?

Only in your browser’s local storage on this device. It is not uploaded. If you clear browser data or close a private window it is gone – so copy important lists as text.

Can I print my to-do list?

Yes, with “Print”. Only the list with title and progress is output, without controls. “Download as text file” gives you a file as well.

What is the difference between a to-do list and a checklist?

A to-do list collects changing tasks; a checklist is a fixed routine you tick off again and again (packing, moving). Both work here: load a template and restart with “Reset all”.

Can I take my list to another device?

Not automatically, because nothing sits on a server. Copy the list with “Copy as text” and paste it on the other device under “Paste a list from text”.

How many tasks fit in the list?

Up to 500 tasks of at most 200 characters each – more than enough for everyday use and without slowing the browser down.
