Printable grid paper
Pick a grid type and spacing, click “Create PDF”, print. Besides a classic square grid there is dot grid for bullet journals and isometric paper for 3D sketches.
How it is calculated
Grid paper is the go-to sheet for maths, geometry and sketching. Here you create it at exactly the size you need – also as a dot grid that barely shows under your writing, or as an isometric grid for drawing cubes and boxes without a ruler.
How it works
- Choose a grid type: squares, dots, isometric lines or isometric dots.
- Enter the spacing in millimetres – for a quarter-inch grid type 6.35.
- Set paper size, orientation, margin and colour, then click “Create PDF”.
- Print at actual size (100 %) and check the 50 mm ruler.
How it is calculated
Squares and dots fill the largest area of whole cells inside the margins, centred on the page. The isometric grid is made of equilateral triangles: vertical lines are a · √3 / 2 apart (4.33 mm for 5 mm triangles), plus lines at +30° and −30° to the horizontal. PDF conversion: 1 in = 25.4 mm exactly (NIST SP 811) and 1 pt = 1/72 in (ISO 32000-1).
Honest limits
The sheet has no notebook margin or header. The printout is only true to size without “Fit to page”. Very small spacings (below 3 mm) may blur on basic printers.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make quarter-inch graph paper?
Choose “Square grid” and enter 6.35 mm, which is exactly 1/4 in. For 5 squares per inch enter 5.08 mm.
What is dot grid paper?
Instead of lines there are only dots where the lines would cross, so you can write freely and still draw straight – popular for bullet journals.
What is isometric paper used for?
For 3D drawings: cubes, boxes and buildings can be drawn along the 30° lines without a protractor.
How do I print grid paper at the right size?
In the print dialog choose “Actual size” or 100 % and check the 50 mm ruler with a real ruler.
