How it is calculated

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) describes images with lines, shapes and text instead of pixels. That is perfect for logos and icons, but not accepted everywhere: older versions of Word and PowerPoint, many upload forms, email signatures, app stores and social networks want a raster image. Converting to PNG solves that – lossless and with transparency.

Example: a square icon with viewBox="0 0 24 24" exported at 512 px wide becomes a 512 × 512 pixel PNG – razor sharp, because the vector graphic is redrawn at that size.

What size will the PNG be?

The starting point is the size stored in the SVG itself:

width and height on the <svg> element: these values are used. Units like mm, cm, in or pt are converted to pixels as in CSS (1 in = 96 px, 1 cm ≈ 37.8 px, 1 pt = 1⅓ px).
viewBox only (typical for icons, e.g. viewBox="0 0 24 24"): the viewBox width and height count as pixels.
one side + viewBox: the other side follows the viewBox aspect ratio.
nothing or percentages: browser default of 300 × 150 px – set the size in pixels yourself.

The scale factor multiplies that size (a 24 px icon at 4× becomes 96 × 96 px). Under width/height you enter pixels; with only one value, the other follows the aspect ratio. With both set and “Keep aspect ratio” on, the graphic is fitted inside that box; with it off, it is stretched to exactly those dimensions.

Transparent or colored background

PNG supports transparency – leave the background “transparent” and the logo looks right on any backdrop. For apps or platforms that show transparency as black, pick a background color (usually white). Need a JPG? Convert the PNG afterwards with the image converter; to shrink the file, use compress image.

Security: the SVG is only drawn as an image

SVG files can contain scripts and links to external servers. This tool therefore loads the SVG strictly as an image (like an <img> on a web page). In that mode the browser runs no scripts and fetches nothing. The flip side: images or fonts linked from the internet will not appear in the PNG. Embedded images (data: URLs) and fonts installed on your system work.

Privacy

The conversion happens entirely on your device, pasted SVG code included. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.

How do I convert SVG to PNG?

Will the PNG be blurry?

No. The SVG is drawn directly at the target size instead of being rendered small and upscaled. Even 16× stays crisp.

Does the background stay transparent?

Yes, by default. If you need a white or colored background, choose “Color” under “Background”.

Why is a font or image missing in the PNG?

For security the SVG is drawn only as an image, and in that mode the browser loads no external files. Fonts not installed on your device fall back to a default font. Fix: convert text to outlines in your design app or embed the images.

What size is the PNG by default?

The width/height from the SVG, otherwise the viewBox – multiplied by the chosen factor (2× by default). The original size is shown in the results list.

Are my SVG files uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser; your files never leave your device.
