Emoji copy and paste: click any emoji to copy it
Use this page for emoji copy and paste without hunting for the emoji keyboard: click an emoji, it lands on your clipboard and in the collection box, then paste it anywhere with Ctrl+V. More than 1,900 emojis can be browsed by group or found by keyword, and skin tones are selectable.

How it is calculated
The emoji copy and paste tool puts any emoji on your clipboard with one click, whether you work on a computer without an emoji keyboard, fill in a web form or prepare a text to send later. The list has about 1,900 emojis from the Unicode standard, ordered like on smartphones, with English names and search keywords.
How to copy an emoji
- Choose a group or type a keyword into the search box, for example “heart” or “birthday”.
- Click or tap the emoji. It is copied immediately and also added to the collection box.
- Paste it with Ctrl+V (Mac: Cmd+V; phone: long-press, then “Paste”) into your message, document or profile. For several emojis, use the collection box and copy them together.
Skin tones
For hands, gestures and people you can choose one of the five skin tones of the Fitzpatrick scale. Technically, the tool appends a skin tone modifier right after the base emoji. Emojis that do not depict people, such as animals or symbols, always stay unchanged.
Good to know
- Appearance: The device or app decides how an emoji looks. The same emoji looks different on iPhone, Android and Windows, and the recipient may see it differently than you do.
- Flags: Windows shows country flags as a pair of letters (for example “US”) instead of a flag. The emoji is still correct, and other systems display it as a flag.
- Newest emojis: Everything up to Emoji 16.0 is included. Newer characters are left out on purpose because many devices still show them as an empty box.
- Accessibility: Screen readers announce the official name. Use emojis sparingly and not in place of words.
- Not an image: What you copy is a text character, not a graphic, so it can be pasted into any text field.
Everything runs in your browser. Your search and the collection box are neither sent nor stored. Only the emoji list is loaded once from this site.
Frequently asked questions
How do I copy and paste an emoji?
Click or tap the emoji and it is on your clipboard. Paste it into any text field with Ctrl+V (Mac: Cmd+V; phone: long-press and choose “Paste”). It is also added to the collection box.
Why do I see a box instead of an emoji?
The viewer’s device does not know that character, usually because the operating system or font is too old. An update helps. That is why the very newest emojis are hidden here.
How do I change the skin tone?
Pick one of the five tones under “Skin tone”. It applies to all emojis with hands or people and is included when you copy.
Do emojis look the same everywhere?
No. The Unicode standard only defines the characters and their names. Apple, Google, Microsoft and others draw their own artwork, so the look, and sometimes the tone, differs slightly.
Why does Windows show my flag as letters?
Windows does not ship flag emoji artwork. The character is made of two country letters and becomes a flag on other systems. Copy and paste still works.
Is my search saved?
No. The search and the collection box stay in your browser and are not sent or stored. The list is loaded only once.
