ft² = m² × 10.7639 and m² = ft² × 0.0929. A foot is exactly 0.3048 m, so a square foot is 0.3048 × 0.3048 = 0.09290304 m², and one square meter holds 1 ÷ 0.09290304 = 10.7639 ft². A 50 m² apartment therefore has 538.1955 ft², and a 1,000 ft² home has 92.903 m².

Do not convert the side lengths with 3.28
Feet are 3.2808 per meter, but square feet are 3.2808² = 10.7639 per square meter. A common mistake is to multiply an area by 3.28: that gives 164 ft² for 50 m² instead of the correct 538 ft². If you have the room dimensions, convert each side to feet first and then multiply, or multiply in meters and convert the area once.
Square yards and acres
