How to convert cm to meters
meters = centimeters ÷ 100 and centimeters = meters × 100. Centi means one hundredth, so you move the decimal point two places: 175 cm = 1.75 m, 30 cm = 0.3 m, 2.5 m = 250 cm. For values under 100 cm the result starts with 0, for example 75 cm = 0.75 m and 1 cm = 0.01 m.

Height in meters and feet
Body height is often written in centimeters in Europe and in feet and inches in the US. The converter shows both: 175 cm = 1.75 m = 5 ft 8.9 in, and 180 cm = 5 ft 10.9 in. By hand, divide centimeters by 2.54 to get inches and then split into feet of 12 inches.
