How it is calculated
A scanned contract lies on its side, a landscape plan is upside down, back pages are inverted – this tool rotates PDF pages permanently and saves the corrected file. Single pages or all at once, free and without sign-up.
How it works
- Drop or choose a PDF. Every page appears as a small preview.
- ↺ and ↻ under a page turn just that page by 90°; “All left/right” or “All 180°” turn the whole document.
- Click “Rotate and save” and download the new PDF. The file name gets the suffix “-rotated”.
What rotating does
Every PDF page has a “Rotate” entry that sets how many degrees it is turned when displayed – multiples of 90° only (ISO 32000-1, section 7.7.3.3). The tool changes just that entry. Text, images, links and form fields stay untouched, no quality is lost and the file size barely changes. Unlike the rotate button in a PDF viewer, the orientation is saved.
Honest limits
90° steps only: slightly skewed scans cannot be straightened this way. Password-protected PDFs cannot be edited. Any change invalidates digital signatures – rotate signed documents before signing. Previews are shown for the first 150 pages; further pages can still be rotated with the “All” buttons.
Privacy
The PDF is edited in your browser with the open-source library pdf-lib and previewed with pdf.js, served by this website. Nothing is uploaded.

How do I rotate a PDF and save it that way?

Can I rotate only some PDF pages?
Yes. Every page has its own ↺ and ↻ buttons, so you can turn a single landscape table in the middle of a document and leave the rest as it is.
Does rotating a PDF reduce quality?
No. Only the display orientation of the page changes; text stays searchable, images keep their resolution and the file size hardly changes.
Why does my PDF go back to the old orientation after saving in a viewer?
The rotate function of many viewers (such as Ctrl + Shift + Plus in Adobe Reader) only changes the view and is not saved. This tool writes the rotation into the file.
Is rotating PDFs here free and safe?
Yes, free and without an account. The file is processed only in your browser and never uploaded.
