Username generator

The username generator turns two words into names like “NightWolf42” or “CookieNinja” – for games, forums and social networks. You choose the style, length, separator and number; the names use only letters and digits.

    How it is calculated

    How the username generator works

    1. Choose a style: “Cool” for gaming and tech, “Funny” for joke names, “Cute” for friendly, soft names.
    2. Set the format, number and maximum length. The number and the separator count toward the length.
    3. Press “New names” and take favorites along with “Copy list”. Any change to the settings draws new names.

    How the names are built

Each style has ten modifier words (“Night”, “Frost”, “Cookie”) and ten core words (“Wolf”, “Ninja”, “Bunny”), 100 combinations in all. The names consist only of the letters A–Z, digits and the chosen separator. A combination that does not fit the chosen length is not shown. Drawing uses your browser’s random number generator (Web Crypto), and each name appears at most once per draw.

    Tips for a good username

    Honest limits

The generator does not check whether a name is still free on a platform – only signing up shows that. The word lists contain no brands, characters or celebrities. A username is no substitute for a password: for secure access, use a separate, long password. Nothing is uploaded.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I create a cool username?

Choose the “Cool” style and draw several names, such as “NightWolf” or “FrostHunter”. Repeat with “New names” until one fits and add a number if needed.

Why are accents removed from the names?

Many platforms accept only A–Z, digits and a few special characters in usernames. That is why accents are stripped, so the names work everywhere.

How long can a username be?

Each platform sets its own limit. Under “Maximum” enter the length your platform allows. The number and separator are included in the length.

Is a generated name still free on the platform?

The generator cannot know that. Try several suggestions when you sign up or add a number.

Are a username and a password the same thing?

No. The username is publicly visible, the password has to stay secret. Use a separate, long and unique password.

    Are my names stored?

No. The names are created in your browser and are not uploaded or stored anywhere; only your settings are remembered by the browser.
