Random date generator
This random date generator picks dates from any range you set – optionally weekdays or weekends only, with a time of day added. Up to 100 dates at once, without repeats and sorted if you like.

How it is calculated
How the random date generator works
- Enter a range, for example 01/01/2026 to 12/31/2030, and the number of dates you want.
- If needed, choose weekdays only or weekends only, and set a time span such as 08:00 to 18:00 in 15-minute steps.
- Press “Draw again”. Changing any setting also draws again. “Copy list” takes the result along, for example into Excel or a schedule.
How it is calculated
Every matching day in the range has the same chance. With a time of day, every combination of day and time step counts equally. “No repeats” draws without replacement, so no date appears twice. The calendar is Gregorian, leap days (February 29) are included, and weekdays follow ISO 8601. The random source is your browser’s generator (Web Crypto), not Math.random.
What it is good for
- Test data: birth dates, order dates or appointments for spreadsheets and software tests.
- Games and puzzles: any day for quizzes, birthday guessing or writing prompts.
- Drawing a date: choose one date from several possible days fairly, for example for inspections or samples.
Honest limits
Public holidays and school breaks are not taken into account because they differ by country and region. The dates are plain calendar days without a time zone. The generator is not meant for cryptographic purposes or official lotteries. Nothing is uploaded or stored apart from your settings in the browser.
Frequently asked questions
How do I generate a random date?
Enter a From and To date and press “Draw again”. The generator picks one day from the range, every day with the same chance.
Can I pick only weekdays or only weekends?
Yes. Under “Which days?” choose “Weekdays only (Mon–Fri)” or “Weekends only (Sat, Sun)”. Public holidays are not excluded.
How do I add random times of day?
Under “Time of day” choose “Add a time”, enter Earliest and Latest and set the precision. Example: 08:00 to 18:00 in 15-minute steps.
Can the same date appear twice?
Only if “No repeats” is switched off. When it is on, each date appears at most once; if fewer possibilities exist than you asked for, the generator shows only those.
Does it work for dates in the past?
Yes. Years from 1000 to 9999 are allowed. The range may span about 219 years; longer ranges are shortened.
How do I get the dates into Excel?
Use “Copy list” and paste into a column. Choose the ISO 8601 display (2026-10-14) and Excel recognizes the date particularly reliably.
