Weighted average: (92 × 20 + 85 × 15 + 78 × 25 + 88 × 15) ÷ 75 = 85.13%.
Needed on the final: (85 − 85.13 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = 84.6%.
Check: 85.13 × 0.75 + 84.6 × 0.25 = 85.
Percentages are not rounded before the letter grade is assigned: 89.95% is a B when an A starts at 90%. Whether your instructor rounds, drops the lowest score or grades on a curve is set by the syllabus – this calculator cannot know that. The weights only need to be in the right proportion to each other.
